Abstract
The article is devoted to the description of linguistic and cultural characteristics of semantics of metrological phraseological units (MPU) with components-names of volume, capacity and weight of friable bodies and fluids sieve / sifter, bushel, pound, pot on the example of English, German, Polish and Ukrainian languages.
